Question # 11

Allied Advanced Lubrication.

How do I use the MotorSilk Diesel Treatment (Class 8 Trucks)?

Note: See FAQ #10 for general use diesel fuel treatment instructions.

Class 8 Truck Use Instructions

Add to fuel tank at each fill up.

The first two 32 oz. bottles of diesel fuel treatment are used at a 1 to 500 ratio. A 32 oz bottle will treat 125 gallons.

Example: To calculate the proper amount of fuel additive to use, first convert the gallons to be treated to ounces.

If the truck's fuel tank holds 250 gallons, first convert the 250 gallons to ounces by multiplying the 250 gallons buy 128 to determine the total ounces to be treated, (250 x 128 = 32,000 oz).

Divide the total ounces by 500 (32,000 / 500 = 64 oz.). To treat 250 gallons of fuel, first add 64 oz. of fuel treatment (32 oz. per each tank) to the truck's fuel tanks, and then re-fuel as usual.

The second two 32 oz. bottles are added at a 1 to 1000 ratio. This means that 1/2 of the fuel treatment is not used. Example: 64 oz. drops to 1/2 or 32 oz. (16 oz. per tank). At this ratio, 32 oz. bottle will treat 250 gallons.

After the first four bottles, the diesel fuel treatment is now added at a 1 to 2000 ratio for all treatments. This means that 1/4 of the fuel treatment is now used. Example 32 oz. drops to 1/2 or 16 oz. (8 oz. per tank). A 32 oz. bottle will treat 500 gallons of fuel.

The incremental additional fuel mileage gain with the diesel fuel treatment is an average of 5%.

Note: the diesel fuel treatment is compatible with cold weather anti-gelling diesel fuel additives.
