Is MotorSilk Not recommended for any applications?

The MotorSilk gear treatment product is not recommended for limited slip differential drive components in cars and trucks or for wet-clutch assemblies found on some motorcycles and other equipment.

Other posi-traction units like lockers without clutches will benefit from the gear treatment.

MotorSilk engine treatment is not recommended for new or rebuilt engines until the break-in period has been reached or 1200 miles if there is no manufacturer's recommended break-in period.

It's simple to figure out: I your rear end used a "modifier or limited slip additive" in the oil, do not use our gear treatment.
