When should I add the MotorSilk products?

Engine - 16 oz. treatment for 6 quarts oil or less 

The engine product is always last to the fresh oil. The best time is at an oil and filter change. The product goes to work immediately and will take between 500 to 1000 miles for the Boron CLS Bond technology to fully bond the solid lubricant on to the engine's surfaces.

After 3000 miles, or at your next scheduled oil service, change the oil and filter as usual. The MotorSilk product is not lost or drained out as the oil change. The technology has been permanently installed in the engine.

One of the benefits of the superior lubrication of MotorSilk is the doubling of the oil change service interval. You can safely extend your oil change interval to 6000 miles.

Note: Vehicles under warranty should wait until the warranty period has expired before extending the oil change interval.

Engine - 6 quarts oil or more

The MotorSilk engine treatment is added to clean oil at the oil change. Engines with over 6 quarts of oil will require more than one 16 oz. bottle of MotorSilk engine treatment. Add the product at a 1 to 10 dilution ratio.

For example, if an engine holds 8 quarts (256 oz>0 of oil, add 1/10th the volume of MotorSilk engine treatment (256/10=25.6 oz.), or approximately 1 and 2/3rd bottles of product.

Note: Always substitute the MotorSilk product in place of the equivalent amount of engine oil so as to avoid overfilling the engine oil reservoir.

Transmission

The transmission product selection is either Manual or Automatic.

Manual Transmission

Note: Some late-model manual transmissions use automatic transmission fluid rather than traditional gear fluid. Please check your vehicle's specifications for the proper MotorSilk transmission fluid treatment to use.

Consumer Manual Transmission Treatment (average driving)

he manual transmission treatment can be added at any time. The only consideration is to be sure to leave the product in the component for a minimum of 1000 miles to allow for complete bonding.

If a scheduled maintenance fluid change service is due soon, wait to add the product until after the service has been performed.

Commercial / Industrial, High Performance Manual transmission treatment

Automatic Transmission

Consumer (average driving) Automatic Transmission

The 10 oz. automatic transmission treatment can be added at any time. The only consideration is to be sure to leave the product in the component for a minimum of 1000 miles to allow for complete bonding.

If a scheduled maintenance fluid change service is due soon, wait to add the product until after the service has been performed.

Note: For high mileage automatic transmissions (over 75,000 miles) it is recommended that the fluid and filter be changed and the vehicle driven 500 miles prior to adding the MotorSilk Transmission Treatment.

Commercial / Industrial, High Performance Automatic Transmission

It is recommended that the fluid and filter be changed prior to adding the MotorSilk Automatic Transmission Treatment. When refilling the transmission, remember to leave out sufficient transmission fluid to be replaced with the required quantity of product.

Fuel System Treatment

Gas Treatment

Add the fuel product to the tank before fueling. The 16 oz. fuel system gas treatment is added every 10,000 miles and will treat up to 24 gallons of fuel.

You may add it to less than 24 gallons but to maintain the proper dilution strength do not add to more than 24 gallons. For larger fuel tanks, run the tank down to 24 or less gallons and then add the product.

Diesel Fuel Treatment

Add to fuel tank at each fill up.
